Audemars Piguet's Montauk Highway Watch

Though that summer share in the Hamptons might be coming at a discount this year, Audemars Piguet's new limited-edition timepiece, dubbed the Montauk Highway, isn't. At $20,300, the Swiss brand's latest addition to its Royal Oak Offshore line is unapologetically deluxe and anything but retiring: In eye-catching aqua, white, and brown, the chronometer demands attention. Whether or not that endears it to you is a matter of taste. Personally, I love the thing; it probably works better as a third watch than a first, but in this bracket, who's counting? When I first saw it at this year's SIHH, it stood out even among the bold offerings. As you'd expect, it's got the features—the chronometer, tachometer, and waterproofing to 100 meters—demanded by watermen of distinction. (By watermen, I mean the regatta variety.) If this is any indication of how large Audemars is living on the South Fork, all I can say is, guys, I'm free for Memorial Day. Avaiable in June at audemarspiguet.com.

Fitting colours...very nice!
