Top 10 Sneakers of 2009 by Matt Halfhill

http://cdn.complex.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/yeezy-101.jpg

Matt Halfill, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the online magazine NiceKicks.com, has come together with Complex to create a list that showcases the top sneakers from this past year. Matt Halfhill’s Top 10 Sneakers of 2009 features highly-sought after shoes such as the Nike 1/2 Cent “Royal”, Air Jordan 11 Space Jam, and the Nike Air Foamposite “Eggplant”. It’s definitely a true sneaker head’s list that includes sneakers geared for various sports and lifestyles. However, despite all the great shoe releases from ‘09, Kanye West’s blank/pink Nike Air Yeezy beat out the rest and was able to claim the #1 spot on Halfhill’s list. With reputable outlets and figures, like BusinessWeek and Halfhill, recognizing the collaboration shoe between Kanye and Nike is a reinforcement to the significance the Air Yeezy had on sneaker culture and fashion in 2009.

For all the procrastinators that have yet to complete this year’s holiday shopping, we’ve come up with the 2fresh4yall Kanye West Holiday Gift Guide to give you some helpful ideas. If the recipient of your gift is a huge Kanye fan or just someone with a good sense of fashion, it would be difficult to go wrong with any of the 6 clothes and accessories on our list.
1. APC Jeans New Cure ($155): Kanye has been spotted wearing APC New Cure jeans in the past and even shopping at the APC store in SoHo New York. For anyone trying to step their denim game up, APC offers quality products at a fraction of the cost compared to other premium denim companies.

2. American Apparel 2001 T-shirt ($17): It’s been a very long time since Kanye has been photographed wearing a graphic t-shirt. This past year, he’s been wearing an array of blank t-shirts of all different colors, most notably the pink t-shirt he wore in Keri Hilson’s “Knock You Down” music video. American Apparel offers a similar blank t-shirt in a fuchsia color, along with its many other color options to choose from.

5. Casio G-Shock DW-5600 Glide Watch ($110): While most rappers choose to rock iced-out Rolex watches, Kanye is almost always seen wearing a simple plastic watch from G-Shock. G-Shock offers many high-quality watches with each of their own distinct features that will suit a variety of lifestyles.

6. Good Wood Jesus Piece ($50-65): This one is self-explanatory for all the true Kanye fans. And even though all the Jesus pieces from Good Wood are currently sold out, they’ll be coming out with additional colors in the future. However, if you’re lucky, maybe you’ll find a few people selling their black Jesus piece, as I’ve exchanged e-mails and Twitter tweets with customers who bought several just to re-sell.

Vodafone Headquarters

Barbosa & Guimaraes designed the new headquarters for mobile phone brand Vodafone

in Porto, Portugal.

The new building is faithful to the Vodafone slogan “Vodafone Life, Life in Motion”, adopting a dynamic image, covering the sense of movement, challenging the static.

The formalization of this concept is based on the concrete, which through its plasticity, allows to create irregular and free-form shapes, working both as a structural solution and exterior appearance, creating a unique shape, a monolithic building, bringing cohesion and unity to the set.

The technical complexity of the building leads to a periphery structural solution, a shell of concrete, like an egg, reeducating internal support to the two stairwells and three central pillars, allowing great versatility in its interior space use.

Functionally, the building has eight floors working three as underground. On the ground floor, in addition to the auditorium, there is a store facing the Boavista Avenue, a cafeteria and office access. In the four upper floors appears the offices working as open-space with an accessible terrace. The underground floors are occupied by technical areas, training rooms and car parking facilities.
